What's it like to be a psych nurse? Aspiring one here!

ei ophine!it's great to hear people having interest in my field of work.

*for starters, you may get an idea of my experiences as a psych nurse in my blog*

First, I'd like to say that i really really love Psychology, psychiatry, and everything about it.

This is such a unique science where you delve into the minds, behavior, personality, into a person's "soul" so to speak. In return, you'd be able to understand them more, and you'll be able to help out in the care and rehabilitation process.

But what's more interesting is the more you get to help in their therapy and know them better, i personally was able to evaluate myself from time to time, and understand myself a whole lot better too. (that for me is awesome).

At first it is really tough to deal with these patients. There will always be the discrimination, and the misunderstanding of their cases. WE tend to judge these people quickly, without understanding them.

If people were to read more on their cases, they'll find out that there is a very thin line of difference between sanity and insanity.

Then of course there are risks. And prevention is better than cure. You've got to toughen yourself mentally, physically, and emotionally.

I've been verbally assaulted, physically assaulted, spat on the face, and there is nothing much that i can do but just keep composure, be professional and get the job done.

Keeping your cool is a challenge 24/7. i'm not saying i'm a master already of these things, but that's what makes it interesting for me, nothing is in routine.

Expect the unexpected, except their well-being.

It's such a heartwarming feeling to see a previously mentally-deranged person to become normal and live fully again.

so now the intro part is over....

haha.jk. apir!
