"Connecting..." , a photo by manikreigun on Flickr.
I love people-watching. I even ogle at non-relevant non-living things when I walk down the street. (I could either be observant, or it's just my attention-span is very short.) And this bit is one of my favourite stolen-shots.
In a famous coffee shop in Barcelona, Spain, I've looked at this couple from time to time for a good few minutes. And the scene never changed. The lady staring into space, or into her guy companion, with bagged goods on her feet. Across the table, the guy is happily distracted with his gadget, grinning as if he was truly entertained and lost in reality.
The funny thing is, I could see myself in either of their shoes sometimes. Something so common that unknowingly, we disconnect ourselves from people around us. I am guilty as everybody is.
Technology may make the world smaller, but not necessarily bring people closer.
(Especially if there's free Wi-Fi!)
