MGB NEWS:Manik Good & Bad News

Manik Good & Bad News.
Around, Over, and Under the Sun.

In the currently top rating primetime show, Maalala Mo Kaya : The Naporkles Story, Senators and Congressmen are accusing each other of pocketing public funds as their own and denying using it personally. The latest issue dates back to the convicting of former Chief Justice Corona, wherein the Senators allegedly received 'money' afterwards. This was denied by the Malacanang, since it was labeled as DAP or 'Disbursement Acceleration Program.' ( Di nga naman balato yung tawag, kayo naman.)

Good News: This current political sticky situation will eventually lead to a more transparent governance with regards to public funds and counter checks by the executive and legislative bodies in the government. (ubo)

Bad News: After coming up with big words such as Disbursement, and multiple acronyms for 'pork barrel', the politicians are now trying their best to rename it with a smarter sounding term that would benefit 'kuno' the people of the Pilipinas. Thesaurus highly advised.

In relation to this current event, the Senate President Sen. Drilon is under fire, (no hindi siya nalitson), for admitting that he himself received 100 Million Pesos known as DAP or (Donated Ang Pesos). But, he admitted that he used it with projects for his constituents.

Good News: Finally somebody admitted receiving something, and hopefully this would have benefitted the said project 'receivers.'

Bad News: Robin Padilla is not impressed. Not because he is friends with actor-politicians Sen. Jinggoy Estrada and Sen. Bong Revilla, both are directly linked to the Pork Barrel Scam. And not because he was jailed for illegal possession of firearms under the then Dept. of Justice Secretary Sen. Drilon. But because he is a taxpayer, and he urges Drilon to man up, and lead the Senate by stepping down.

Worse News: The photo posted by the Philippine Badboy Robin Padilla on his instagram account has garnered various comments. Some people thought Binoy had photoshopped somebody's head into Drilon's body. He called it 'Pig and Politician Crossbreeding.'

Semi-worse News: Fans are hoping this won't affect Robin Padilla's official film entry to the MMFF titled '10,000 Hours.' This is not the time he will spend in jail. (James Franco is closely watching if Binoy successfully beat his '127 Hours.')

Extreme News: This might be the spark for the political career of Robin Padilla: Ang Badboy ng Senado. Aaaaand Daniel Padilla too. Wow.

more after the break...

Meanwhile in Barcelona, Spain, the behemoth basilica Sagrada Familia is still under construction since 1882.

Good News (According to Rappler.Com) :

A 3D video has been released by the Sagrada Familia Foundation, the body responsible for overseeing the building project, which shows the ornate and gigantic cathedral in 2026, the date when the last brick will be laid.

This is not in Brazil, so I posed like this.

Video:

Bad News: If Barcelona waited for 130+ years to witness a grand masterpiece finish, people in the Pilipinas will have waited forever to see a 'ghost project' come to life. By 2026, the Luneta Flag Pole costing almost 10 million will have been replaced 23 times already.

At this rate, the 'Daang Matuwid' might be like one of many government projects, binabaha, lubak-lubak, at laging inaaspaltuhan para laging may kick-back.

That's it for now. Until next Pork Barrel Scam!
