Product Review: Ozeri Digital Pocket Pedometer

Are you a serious health buff who wants to carry on hitting the gym and doing daily exercise? Or are you also like me, who just feels way too tired after a hard day's (or night's) work and just wanted to rest at home?

No, I'm not trying to gain sympathy votes here. In fact, I am trying to push myself to get back on the healthy side of things and start doing some regular exercises. Although, I firmly believe and feel, that strenuous and physically demanding jobs such as mine as a nurse can wear anyone out.

Therefore, it was just me telling myself: 'It's okay, you've done a 14 hour shift today, you've spent all the calories and done more than enough for a 1 hour gym session.' Of course that wasn't totally true, so just relax there muscle-man.

I've been wanting to find out how much calories I spend in a day of work, and to determine the number of steps along the process. Lo and behold, I was given the opportunity to review this awesome product.

So here are some of the facts about this tiny little workhorse:

  • Records steps, distance, speed, calories and time with the world's most advanced Tri-Axis technology.
  • 3 Recording Modes: Today, Split & Total -- with a split screen display for multi-data views.
  • New 3D Tri-Axis Sensor (X, Y, Z plane detection) provides superior accuracy in any position.
  • Counts up to 1 million steps with 7-Day Memory, and includes a built-in Clock, Calendar & Sports Timer and Auto Sleep Mode technology.
  • Used by professional athletes, the 4x3motion boasts an ultra slim design that fits in any pocket, and features a blue backlight for night viewing. 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed.
(And the most important thing is, IT IS YELLOW!)

At first, I was quite skeptical in pedometers giving accurate step counts. So I gave it a test, and it does count them perfectly. And it stops when resting, which is of course convenient. It will automatically goes into sleep mode, too. It is very easy to use, and it comes with a handy instruction manual.

It is very light and very handy. I both tested it on separate days, one in my pocket, and the other wearing it around my neck. It felt so light and comfortable that I forgot I brought it with me. For the inner fitness buff in you, it will be a bonus since it gives you calories burnt, distance covered, speed, calendar and time, and a 7 day recording!

Here's 1 result of a day at work. And definitely I'm not just walking around during the whole time!
I've covered 3.26 miles with 10, 359 steps.
Now I'm wondering what if all nurses have their own pedometers?
That would be an epic Nursing Stepolympics!

Anyway, to wrap it all up, this is a highly recommended gadget especially for athletes, fitness advocates, or for those wanted to join in on the healthy lifestyle like me!
