Dear Shoelaces,
I have nothing against you on my shoes. Although I've been wanting to have something different on my shoes. For example, I'll be showing you one of my favourite 'beaters':my hi-cut Converse All-stars with strap. I love to wear them with minimal tying as much as possible. I'd love to wear it like a slip-on because that's how
Let it be known that even though I love this shoe, somehow I'd rather not clean it up. The dirtier it is, the better for my liking. Is that enough to show how responsible I am?
(If you're an OC and have a fancy for cleaning things up, you can close this window now before you see the horror.)
Again shoelaces, this is not personal mmmkay? I want change. I'm bored. I want something more fun. No, I didn't have to cheat.
One time, a fantastic and curious idea was dropped by Shoeps. Converting shoes to slip-ons and let's you wear them comfortably without any laces! They're very sturdy elastics that enhances the fit of the shoe.
They come in with 14 elastic straps in a pack, and with various colours as well. I chose the white solely for my All-stars. They're easy to use and it did neaten the appearance of the sneakers. (Again, more reason NOT to clean 'em, Wuhoo!)
The Shoeps are priced £7.99 per pack, which I think is a fair price for something durable and you can use multiple times on any lace-up shoe you prefer. And yes, they're east to clean and can get wet.
That was the kicker mate, they can get wet, and you can't. Sorry. See you next time?
Your friend (in some shoes),
manikreigun.
P.S. Shoeps are distributed under Gumbies. Another awesome company.
ReplyDeleteHere is a tutorial on creating a thread and glue (or nail polish) aglet.

If I have more “creative time” I am so making these for my sister in-law. Thanks so much for the tutorial!
