The Haunted Walking Tour of London

London is packed and filled with adventures and entertainment for everyone. I have seen some of the best shows in the West End such as Miss Saigon, The Lion King, The Book of Mormon, Wicked, and The Phantom of the Opera to name a few. 

 But this time around, Joe Bloggers and Every Hotels showed us bloggers Theatre Land’s other side: real Phantoms, ghosts and the undead that provide hair-raising performances. ‘Thriller’ in real life! Led by the lovely tour guide, Ms. Diane Burstein. We met at Every Hotels Piccadilly which is at the heart of West End and we braved the afternoon for an unforgettable spooky walk. 

I love paranormal stories on films and movies. But walking along the streets and theatres that was/is a witness to these horror stories, I tried not to be left behind by the group alone! Now I know how Scooby-Doo and friends feel. Zoinks!

 These are just some of the notable stories worthy of a horror flick in the future:

• The first actor to wear a clown make-up, whose ghost mischievously shows up in dressing room mirrors. (A very good reason why clowns are downright scary.)

• The poltergeist disturbances around Covent Garden. (Must be on a happy hour.)

• Numerous sightings of a ghost seen on a very busy tube station. (Might be stuck in the rush hour?)
• A man seen wearing a World War I uniform. (Classic lad.)
• A famous actor murdered by a co-actor because of professional jealousy. His ghost seen running the area. (I tried not to take a photo at that time!)
• A severed head on the theatre showing a musical about a king lion. (Hakunamatata!) 

• Sir Patrick Stewart and Dame Judi Dench also had ghost sightings of a peculiar individual who wears a Victorian outfit that vanishes into thin air. (Just trying to get an autograph for ages! Massive fan.)

• A Strangler Jacket. (No, it is not fashionable. Keep away.)
• A man in grey who carries a sword seen by an entire cast. (Sharp fella.)

• Apparently, saying the name MacBe.... err... is very unlucky. So is whistling. (Whew almost!)
• The Woman in Black’s actress meeting the real Woman in Black (Perhaps not a star-struck moment.)

Why do the ghosts of actors, producers still like to hang around West End? Nobody knows, but probably the limelight is too hard to refuse for an encore. For them, there’s no such thing as a final curtain call.

After that haunting tour, we thankfully headed back to every Hotel’s restaurant for a much needed rest and refreshment. I am proud to say I am not scared of these calories. It was a feast!

We were also treated with a box kit loaded with awesome stuff that I can use to 'Get up to everything!'

After the horror part is done, we were treated for a quick look around the hotel rooms. If you have not been into central London, the Piccadilly area is known to be quite noisy due to massive crowds of people and all the busy establishments in the area. I honestly thought the rooms would not be comfortable noise. I was happily wrong, it was so quiet you could hear if ghosts are roaming around. (Kidding! I hope.) 

The cozy rooms and amenities doesn’t hurt either.
