The #bgoHendrix Gig

The #bgoHendrix launch was one of the coolest blogger events I've been to. Aside from launching a sleek slot game from bgo, it was an exclusive and intimate night of Jimi Hendrix-inspired musical acts in the west side of London.

Having received this secret e-vite from the superb team of JoesBloggers, I just fistpumped and basically said: say no more, see us there! Me and my mate Mario went over to The Gallery in West Hampstead and treated ourselves not just with beer, cocktails, burger sliders, cheesy fries and other fantastic finger foods; we got to witness acoustic performances from three up and coming artists.

(Positioned perfectly near the bar, of course.)
One of Jimi's shiny toys.

In between sets (and a drink or two), bloggers and guests got a chance to play and enjoy the Jimi Hendrix slot game on our smartphones and in the provided ipad stations in the venue. Scattered around were some Jimi Hendrix' memorabilia, especially his famous guitars and some trivia along with them.

The Performers

Tom Butler

Started from Seattle, Tom Butler's songs remind me of a John Mayer slash The Lumineers vibe and tune. He's performed in numerous grand events, and currently working on his 2nd EP. He will be an act to watch out for. Updates about him will be on: www.tombutlersings.com

Rory Gilmore

Rory has a wide range of influence, he was raised on Nick Drake and John Martyn before graduating to Marilyn Manson and Eminem; though the former are more evident in the music he writes. He will be releasing a collection of songs over the coming months for free via his Facebook page and soundcloud.

All in all, it was an amazing night of celebration of music, fun and games with like-minded and talented people in one cool spot in London. Can't wait to rock to the next gig!
