Making the Most of a Big Night Out

Big nights out become increasingly rare as you grow older. The pressures of the real world start to bear down on you and eat into your free time. So, when they do come along, you need to make the most of them while you can.

Me, while contemplating on life and beer.
Gather Your Friends

First of all, you should gather together your closest friends. You can’t enjoy a truly great night out unless you have the right people with you. It’s great being able to gather together the people you don’t see often enough once in awhile for a night out. Ask as many people as possible; the more, the merrier. If it’s a special night out, then it’s best to plan it and let people know in advance. That way, more people will be able to make it and get out of other commitments they might have.

Start the Evening at Home

On the night of the evening, you should start it at your place. Invite everyone over before you go out and have a few drinks. This is the best way to get the night off to a good start. It gives you the chance to catch up with everyone and prepare for the night ahead. You can even play some music or have some fun on the games console. When it starts getting later, you can think about where you want to go for the evening. Then call for a taxi and get take the night out to the next level.

Do Something Interesting

There are many alternative things you can do on a night out. You could avoid the bars and clubs and do something a little different if you wanted to. For example, you might want to take in some culture. There are plenty of options, so don’t rule anything out. Even if the bars are too much to resist.

If you do decide to go out drinking, then head to as many places you’ve never been before as possible. One of the best things you can do is hunt down those back alley bars and those clubs you’ve never been inside. That way, you can discover places that you never even knew existed before. On the other hand, you might be happy with a few rounds of drinks and some fun on the pub fruit machines. This can make for a fun night too.

Clear Your Schedule to Deal with the Hangover

If you spend the night before drinking, you’ll probably wake up feeling the consequences. That’s why you need the day after to recover. Ideally, it’ll be the weekend. If not, you might have to call in sick and make up an excuse. To really enjoy the night out, you have to weather the effects you feel the next day. That means frying yourself up a breakfast and staying in bed until the worst of the hangover subsides. You’ll have the memories of the great night you had to comfort you. Unless you drink so much you don’t remember it, that is.
