The Ultimate Cheat Sheet For Travelling To Europe

Whether you are relaxing on the beach or seeing the sites in a new city, travelling around Europe is the most fun. Check out my cheat sheet to help you plan your perfect trip away.

Accommodation
Some seasoned travellers prefer to find their accommodation when they arrive at their destination. However for peace of mind, I would recommend that you book it beforehand. There is nothing that puts your mind at ease more, than knowing where you’ll be staying and how much it will cost you. It so easy now to use the internet to find somewhere will the facilities you need at the right price.

Itinerary
You probably have a good idea of the type of thing you want to do when visiting your country of choice. But it never hurts to do some thorough research and formalise your schedule. This helps you see as much as possible in the time that you are there. It also means that you don't end up missing out on a fantastic experience. Tripadvisor is ideal for this, as it allows you to see the top ten things to do in any given location. You also can read other visitors feedback so you get to know what to expect before you travel.

Packing
Once you know where you are going and how you are getting there, it's much easier to pack. Don't forget to pack enough clothes for your trip or some travel wash if you plan on wearing your outfits more than once. Remember to pack all the travel essentials for your getaway on my list here too.

When it comes to documents, make sure to keep them all separate for your main luggage. You'll need your passport, insurance papers and your E111 card. If you haven't got one, fill out an ehic card application before you go, so you are covered for any medical treatment that you may need while travelling.

While travelling
It's important to stay comfortable while you are on the move. Then you will get to your destination feeling refreshed and ready to explore. Wear loose, comfortable clothing on the plane. Don't forget to take some socks as the cabin temperature can get a bit chilly. It's also a good idea to take some headphones so you can make use of the in-flight entertainment or listen to your own music. Bring a neck pillow and wear a scarf in case you want to take a quick nap.

Getting a good night's sleep in an unfamiliar location
Another great cheat for European travel is to download some relaxing sleep music on your phone before you go. Or you can use Youtube if your hotel has free wifi. This can help you nod off quickly in an unfamiliar location.  Earplugs and an eye mask can also help you get to sleep easier.

It's also a good idea to take a door stop to wedge under your hotel room door for added security and peace of mind if you are travelling alone.

That's it for now. If you have any suggestions not mentioned here, please feel free to comment!
Safe travels!
