Hong Kong - So Much More Than Just A Shopping Centre!

It’s true that hundreds of thousands of people come to Hong Kong every year for the incredible shops, stores, malls, stalls, and tailors. There really is a store for everyone here. But while you are in the city don’t forget to take advantage of all there is on offer. While you’re waiting for your suit to be finished, step outside and enjoy some of the incredibly fresh foods cooked right in front of you on the street. Or why not stay overnight, and make the most of some of the amazing events and attractions Hong Kong has to offer:

Space
The Stanley Ho Space Theatre is just one of the stellar attractions available here. The Space Museum itself has been closed recently for refurbishment but is due to open again soon. The building itself looks like a giant egg. Some may say it looks awkward and peculiar in the surrounding landscape, but it certainly makes an impact, and you can’t help but stare at it. As for the theatre, you’ll love the 3D show!

Live Music
There are dozens of really exceptional venues for live music and dancing. Most stay open quite late as well so there will be something to suit every taste and every bedtime. There is also the Festival Zone and The Pulse Light Show to enjoy if you’re heading to Hong Kong shortly. Some places are happy for you to sing like an open mic night. Others book up pretty quickly.

Events And Expos
As well as several different festivals due to take place shortly, you will find several events, exhibitions, and expos that run annually. One of the most popular for tourists is the food expo. No wonder! There is also a really big Computer and Communications Expo here. Accommodation can book up fast. If you want full service in the centre of Kowloon, you should check out the local Hong Kong hotels as soon as you can. Traveling to the events is really easy when you’re here.

Getting Here
The beauty of Hong Kong is how accessible it is. Many tourists now come here for an overnight stay as part of their cruise package. It certainly makes for an incredible vacation if you do it that way. Don’t forget, the airports in the region are all easy to navigate too. There is plenty of public transport to choose from. Alternatively, why not book a private car service or ask your hotel to organise a driver for you?

Must See
There are a few places that need to go on your ‘must see’ list. The Temple Street Night Market is an experience you won’t forget. It’s full of hustle and bustle as you would expect, but there is so much there to see, you can make a whole evening of it! Lantau Island is the home of the Tian Tan Buddha and is a remarkably big bronze statue. Finally, don’t miss a chance to explore the Victoria Peak mountain. It’s become quite the attraction. Enjoy your Hong Kong visit.
