4 Steps to a New Style

When it comes to changes, we're not always so receptive to making complete alterations. When it comes to your style, you might not be a spontaneous person who completely changes everything at the drop of a hat. But when you are changing up your style, you've got the ideal opportunity to make new additions and reorganise your style, not to mention being more adventurous. But how can you start this?

Think About Your Accessories

There's always something that we can do to make ourselves feel a little more braver. And your accessories can be key to embracing a part of your identity, or even your heritage. If you come from a long line of indigenous tribes, having an accessory like this can be a wonderful way to honour your ancestors. You can look online for indigenous accessories, but you can also make a big splash with a little accessory. Whether this is prescription frames or a bag, accessories can add that extra angle to our look. The benefit of adding a little accessory rather than changing everything means that we can take some time to get used to this little approach. When we add a little accessory, it becomes the foundation to completely alter our look.

Create a Capsule Wardrobe

Styling your outfits is not always easy, and it can be very overwhelming. If you want to simplify things, create a capsule wardrobe. This is a minimal wardrobe where you have key pieces that work well and can be coordinated to create different styles and outfits. It gives you the ideal opportunity to experiment with different patterns and colours, while also keeping your budget family in check. Having a couple of key wardrobe items that you can use as a foundation for different looks is a way to be more creative with fewer items.

Adding More Colour

One of the best ways to alter your style is to change your colour. You may love different types of colour, but if you don't wear it, is it because you don't necessarily like how it looks on you, or have you been staying firmly in your comfort zone? When you start to choose simple shades that match your skin tone, and pastel colours, you can incorporate this into your style, and see how it transforms how you look. If you are always wearing beige and neutral colours, you can pick a colour with a similar level of brightness, and add this into your style. It won't just change how you look, but it can change how you feel.

Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone

Changing your style is about getting out of your comfort zone. It's so important for us to not worry about how we look, which is easier said than done. And if you are currently staying at home more, you've got a lot more time on your hands to investigate and incorporate styles that make you feel good. Taking those opportunities to exude confidence in your home environment can make a big difference to how you feel when you head into the outside world.
